Marriage register lists father as Thomas Harris
David's prison record indicates that he was found not guilty of "feloniously wounding.....one female dear the property of her Majesty". The record also indicates that he had served 4 months in jail for stealing a gun in September 1844.
Convicted of 'dear stealing' in 1845 - sentenced to 3 monts imprisonment. Thr prison register had the following comment:
"this man's character is Bad not endeavouring to earn an honest liveliehood, no father. The mother a very industrious person".
He was found not guilty of "larceny before convicted of felony" on 29 June 1847.
