Obituary:

Truell D. Stevens, 72, of Boise and formerly of Twin Falls and Reno, died Friday, Feb, 9, 1996 at the Veterans Hospital, in Boise after a brief courageous bat-tie with cancer. He was born Feb.

9, 1924 in Twin Falls, the son of Rosswell Lynn and Effie Malinda Hartley Stevens. He served in the Army from 1944 through 1946 and was decorated with European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Upon returning to Twin Falls, Truell met and married Helen Graybill. The couple moved to Boise, then to Washington, back to Idaho and then to California. They owned and operated several dry-cleaning businesses until their divorce in 1971.

Truell returned to Idaho, then moved to Reno, where he met Sharon Goins. They were married in 1980. Truell owned and operated Stevens Upholstery. They were divorced in 1987, but remained close friends. Upon retiring, Truell returned to Boise.

Truell enjoyed raising his family, deep sea and fresh water fishing, camping and traveling. He especially enjoyed history, teaching himself Spanish and visiting Mexico. Survivors include his former wife, Sharon Stevens of Reno, a son, Lynn Truell Stevens of Las Vegas, a daughter, Vickie Lee Latreille of Boise, four grand- children, Danora M. Kezar of Boise, Brian L. Stevens of Twin Falls, Jason T. Latreille of Boise and Lannea M. Latreille of Mt. Hood, three Blake, Berkley and Corbin Kezar of Boise; four sisters, Melba Yack of Newport Beach, Eva Edington of LaMesa, Shirley Doyle of Roseburg, Ore. and Patti Canate of San Juan Capistrano, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ross L. Stevens, a brother, Norman Hinton, two sisters, Nelie McGougan and LaVerda Lewis, and his parents Rosswell L. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1996 at White Mortuary, with Elder Roy Graybill conducting Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with the Magic. Valley Area Veterans and Auxiliary conducting military rites. Friends may call at White Mortuary from 4 p.m.

to 8 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 12, 1996. The family suggests that memorials be given to any chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars or to any cancer association..
